Child/Adolescent Psychologist Specializing in OCD, Tic Disorder, and/or Selective Mutism


Department of Psychiatry


The Department of Psychiatry within the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking a Licensed Psychologist with specialized skills in treatment of pediatric OCD, Tic Disorders, and/or Selective Mutism to join our clinical track faculty.  The candidate will join a progressive and growing psychology division within the larger department.  The overall philosophy of this academic division is the provision of comprehensive patient-centered care in our inpatient and outpatient settings, in a variety of unique subspecialty practice settings within our healthcare system.


Appointment will be on the non-tenure clinical track, open rank. The position is a 1.0 FTE and consists of 80% clinical time and 20% academic time.


The Department of Psychiatry is recruiting a psychologist to join our outpatient team to provide clinical services to children and adolescents with OCD, Tics and/or Mutism, as well as education and consultation to patients and their care providers. Opportunities exist to develop collaborative treatment and research programs with medical providers in Child Psychiatry. If desired, responsibilities could also involve psychological assessment. Therapy modalities may include evidence based individual, family, and group therapy models. Specialized training in cognitive-behavioral, exposure-based, and/or acceptance-based is preferred. Occasional inpatient consultation may also be requested.


The psychologist will engage in teaching at multiple levels, such as medical residents/fellows, medical students, and graduate students. Teaching opportunities include more formal didactics and clinical teaching in areas of the psychologist’s expertise. We will work closely with the candidate to optimize his/her time to work in a/n preferred area/s of interest. 


For faculty on the clinical track, professional productivity can take many forms, including program development and research. Appointment at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor is available and commensurate with experience. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa seeks a physician for an OBGYN Hospitalist position in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role will be based at the downtown campus hospital, a low-acuity community hospital. Responsibilities will include obstetric triage, labor management, antepartum and postpartum care, emergency department consultations, performing emergency obstetric and gynecologic surgeries, post-operative care, consulting and backing up family practice obstetric providers, and certified nurse midwives. There is also potential for supervising residents, medical students, and certified nurse-midwifery students.


A 1.0 cFTE position would require 7 shifts (24 hours each) monthly, on average, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts for additional compensation.

The Section of Colorectal Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Iowa invites applicants for a faculty position in Colorectal Surgery.  Appointment will be for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in either the non-tenure clinical track or tenure track consistent with experience and research interest.


Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
