The University of Iowa Division of Gastroenterology-Hepatology at the University of Iowa is adding BC/BE Gastroenterologists to an expanding division composed of diverse academic faculty with broad clinical and research interests. The Division is seeking faculty members for appointment on the clinical or tenure track at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. The position is not eligible for J1 sponsorship.

The Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Gastroenterology-Hepatology at the University of Iowa is recognized for its leadership in education, research, and clinical care. Successful candidates will become part of an internationally recognized and well-established academic GI/ Hepatology program, a critical component of University of Iowa Health Care, the only tertiary and quaternary care provider in the region.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies, to evaluate and treat gastrointestinal disorders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Provide outpatient and inpatient consultation for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and academic settings.
- Participate in departmental activities, including quality improvement initiatives, conferences, and continuing education.
- Research activities are encouraged, though participation is not required for continued employment or promotion.

University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Bone Marrow Transplant specialist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services.
The pediatric cancer program provides comprehensive care to a wide variety of patients with hematologic malignancies including acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, and histiocytic disorders. The Division has a robust Adolescence and Young Adult (AYA) cancer program in collaboration with the NCI-designated, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Iowa. The scope of practice includes but is not limited to the enrollment of multi-institutional clinical research protocols, CAR T cell therapy, gene therapy, and other innovative clinical protocols. The division is involved in cutting-edge research that is funded by the NIH and nonfederal agencies.

The University of Iowa Department of Anesthesia is seeking an accomplished academic anesthesiologist to serve as Division Chief for Multispecialty Anesthesia. This individual will report to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesia. The division chief will be responsible for all aspects of the Department of Anesthesia missions as they pertain to the practice of the following specialties: general surgery, otolaryngology, oral surgery, vascular surgery, trauma surgery, urology, neurosurgical, transplant surgery, and ophthalmology. University of Iowa Health Care seeks its next Deputy Director to lead the NCI designated Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Services team. The UI HCCC is the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, a distinction it has held since 2000. The center coordinates all cancer related research, education, and patient care by faculty and staff from 41 departments and six colleges across the university. A hallmark of the HCCC is multi-investigator collaboration among basic, clinical, and population scientists. In concert with University of Iowa Health Care, the HCCC is expanding its clinical practice to additional sites such as its Quad Cities campus in Bettendorf, IA, outreach sites, and collaboration with community oncologists and critical access hospitals to provide access to cutting edge treatments and clinical trials. In addition, UI Health Care recently forged an agreement with Mission Cancer + Blood to create a comprehensive cancer care network across the state of Iowa, which will greatly increase access to advanced cancer treatment and research across the State of Iowa.
The successful candidate for Deputy Director will be a creative leader and an accomplished administrator who understands the changing healthcare environment and is able to leverage the Center’s strengths to advance and support excellence in the delivery of clinical care and community engagement. The Deputy Director will be responsible for access, care delivery and coordination of cancer care at all UI Health sites, and cooperative efforts such as outreach and community collaboration to deliver exceptional care. This individual will foster excellent relationships across the institution and region, and will build innovative clinical programs. Stature in academic medicine in an oncology-related discipline (basic science, surgery, medical oncology, or radiation oncology), a record of effective administrative and ï¬scal leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive workforce, and positive interactions with students, staff, and faculty are all important qualifications.

The University of Iowa, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking faculty for a position in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division. Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Our department's strength lies in its interdisciplinary team, which includes physicians, nurse midwives, advanced practice nurses, physician associates, genetic counselors, sonographers, and embryologists. We collaborate closely with the School of Nursing and the Departments of Family Medicine and Pediatrics. We are committed to excellence in education through a competency-based curriculum, mentoring clinical and research efforts, and supporting four ACGME-accredited fellowship programs and a Clinical Nurse Midwife training program. Additionally, we work with the UI Departments of Urology, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics and Children's Hospital. Arguably the most distinguished member of the department, Denise Jamieson, MD, MPH serves as the vice president for medical affairs and dean of the UI Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. She brings a wealth of expertise in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) and advocacy for our department. Her background ensures a strong focus on women’s health, maternal care, and emerging infectious diseases in pregnancy, which are critical areas in medical education and research. Her leadership is particularly beneficial in addressing health disparities and improving maternal health outcomes.

Our faculty practice encompasses both inpatient and outpatient activities, highlighting our role as Iowa’s only quaternary academic referral center. Inpatient responsibilities include overseeing the antepartum service and managing obstetric deliveries for MFM patients. In our outpatient clinics, we provide comprehensive care for a wide range of maternal and fetal complications of pregnancy, offering both consultative and complete OB care. We interpret all obstetric ultrasounds for our hospital system, which includes:
- Two hospitals
- Five outpatient locations
- Two telemedicine sites
Our ultrasound unit is accredited by the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine. Additionally, we have three full-time and two part-time genetic counselors, shared with the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric rheumatologist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services specializing in rheumatology.
